PRAY SPECIFICALLY ABOUT GLOBAL POVERTY
For children living in poverty, there is often no safety net. Hunger, disease, and disaster are constantly pressing in. That’s why prayer matters so much. Prayer is an essential and effective weapon we have in the battle against poverty. Without it, all our efforts to help the poor would be meaningless. https://www.compassion.com/prayer.htm
During this season of COVID, please join us in praying for the following:
Health: Pray for comfort for those suffering from disease, that they will find healing in the hands of the Great Physician.
Food: Pray for families in poverty. A global crisis like this one hits these families especially hard. Pray for nations where people lack access to clean water and food. Ask the Lord to provide their daily bread by He Himself becoming the bread of life and giver of living waters. Pray that they will be able to find resources and help in this time. “The Lord will keep you from all harm—he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.” (Psalm 121:7-8)
Child protection: Pray against tension and anger in homes. Pray that God would fill each room with His peace, and that harsh words will be traded for kind ones. Pray for children who are abused. It’s devastating to think that some children are in homes that aren’t safe right now. Pray that God will send people into these children’s lives to intervene and protect them. “Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.” (Isaiah 1:17)
